Body and Soul

Prologue

Being

As I stared down at the blue green planet below I was mesmerized. It was rich and beautiful, large expenses of ocean, tall mountains with snow covered peaks and flowing sandy deserts. I knew instinctively what everything was called, I didn't even have to search for the answers it was the perfect place for me to start over. All that was left was for me to choose my vessel, which form would I take.

As I watched closely I found a likely candidate. I had seen how much the humans worshipped these beings. Their very lives revolved around them. They followed them everywhere, they washed them they nurtured them, they doted on them, they loved them. It was into one of these bodies I would relocate my very being, my essence.

But first, where do I want to be reborn, which area of this magical world would best suit my desires. UK? No too cold, I preferred a warmer climate. USA? Maybe some parts would be ok. Middle East? Way too much violence. Asia? Possibly. Australia? Perfect, beautiful and vast, plenty of room to stretch my proverbial legs, warm climate and I so often heard it described as the "lucky country." yes Australia would do nicely. Now all I had to do was choose the individual.

As I glanced down I noticed it, the perfect vessel for me. It was faded tan, robust but not bulbous. Smooth lines, big round eyes. This would do nicely. It was sitting all alone on the front lawn of the human residence. There was nobody around that I could see in the vicinity, no humans and none of it's own kind either, the place was almost deserted. This would be almost too easy.

I closed my eyes and held my breath. Then I projected myself towards the form sitting all alone. I felt the exhilaration as I got closer and closer, then the surge of power as I entered the body, as my very being wrapped itself around the intricacies of the creature I was to become, until this being died I would remain. The two of us as one, no escape no surrender. This body was now mine.
