Revenge

Prologue

 
It was only going to be a very short ceremony, so there was no formal seating at the altar. The guests didn't need to stand when the pianist started playing ‘Here Comes the Bride’, but they all turned expectantly to watch the bride as she walked down the makeshift aisle towards the altar. She looked absolutely stunning in a simple white spaghetti strapped shift dress. It fitted through the body and flared out slowly past the hips to a short train in the rear. The dress’s simplistic beauty drew gazes of awe and appreciation from the guests as she walked by. Hannah had found the dress in an online catalogue for a real bargain and she was proud of the outcome. It was perfect, just like the garden, the weather and everything else about the day.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife." The minister announced.

A tear slid down Hannah's cheek as she glanced across the aisle to Gabriel. He smiled at her, with love twinkling back at her from the blue depths of his eyes.

"You may kiss the bride." he added, as everybody held their breath in anticipation; this had indeed been a long time coming.
